Seismic Tower Challenge Winners in 7th grade
This fall, Mr. Lawrence's 7th Grade Science classes have been wrapping up their geology unit with an all-time favorite lab: the Seismic Tower Challenge! Throughout the lab, groups research the various methods and techniques modern day engineers use to make structures that are earthquake-resistant, and then design and build their own! Groups compete within their classes to see which structures can stay standing the longest, as the seismic waves gain magnitude with every passing round.
The newest 7th Grade champions have been crowned: Ryla H, Rose G, Stella E, and Maverick M! Congratulations and well done to all groups!

Last Friday and Saturday the 7th Grade Morris Braves Boys Basketball team traveled to Sandwich for their annual invite. The Braves put up an impressive showing controlling each game from the tip to the final buzzer. They took first place going 3-0 throughout the tournament. Keep up the great work boys !!
We are so excited to be bringing back the MGS Santa Shop. This is an in-school shop for students to shop for holiday gifts for friends and family. PTO will also help the student wrap their gifts. November 15th marks School Board Members Day, an opportunity to formally recognize the dedicated members of the Morris Elementary School District 54 Board of Education. These individuals serve as essential, volunteer advocates who provide local governance and oversight to our District. Their critical role encompasses financial responsibility, policy formation and review, and long-range planning, all focused on ensuring that every student in District 54 has access to a high-quality education. They act as the vital link between community members, parents, and the administration, safeguarding our most precious resource—our students. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Board for their commitment and leadership to District 54!
