Thank you for your patience as we plan a safe return for the upcoming school year.

Morris Grade School Parents,
We are continuing to prepare for the upcoming school year and appreciate everyone's patience as we get ready for school year like no other. There are a few things we need from you:
1. Please double check your house for any school textbooks or Library Books. We are still missing some that were not returned at the end of last year. If you have any of these books, please drop them off at the school between 9 am-3 pm Monday-Thursday. We needs these back ASAP in order to prepare to pass them out for the upcoming school year.
2. Most of you have filled out the Return to Learn form for your child. We still have a large number of families that need to complete the registration paperwork in Powerschool. Your child will not be placed on a class roster if these forms are incomplete. We hope to have class rosters complete and available by August 17th. If you need help filling out the online registration forms, please call the office between 9am-3 pm Monday-Thursday.
Thank you for your help in these areas that will help us continue to get ready for the 2020-2021 school year!

Dear District 54 and Morris Families,
Unfortunately, due to Soccer being placed in the medium category by the Governor's office, which does not allow for competitions, we will be suspending the soccer season at this time. Right now we are trying to remain flexible and work within the directives put forth from the state to provide all the opportunities for athletics that we can. I will keep you posted with any updates. Go Braves!

Dear District 54 and Morris Families,
It looks like we are back in action for most early fall sports. The IESA has just released a statement reversing their decision to cancel some early fall sports. At this time Morris Grade School will move forward with Baseball, Softball, and XC. These sports were allowed to move forward as they have been classified as sports with low contact by the Governors office and IDPH. Please see the weblink for the official statement from the IESA https://www.iesa.org/

Congratulations to our Graduating Class of 2020. Watch the ceremony on Youtube, https://youtu.be/U5ByI-i1Dzs

If you have not done so, please take a moment to select your preferred Learning Environment for the upcoming school year. This must be completed by returning families by Friday, July 31st at 4 pm.

Once you have made your decision, you must make sure you have completed the registration form in Powerschool.

Postponing Fall Parent Sports Meeting...Due to the current situation and the decision of the IESA to cancel early fall sports, tonight's fall parent sports meeting will be postponed until a later date when an update or proper guidelines have been released from the ISBE, IDPH, and IESA which will allow us to safely commence our sports programs. Information and updates regarding athletics will continue to be posted via our social media outlets. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. As always Thank You and Go Braves!

Dear District 54 and Morris Families,
I just wanted to give you an update on the current decision that the IESA has made with regard to early fall sports. At this time they have decided to cancel regular seasons and state series of boys and girls golf, boys baseball, girls softball, and boys and girls cross-country for the 2020-21 school year. They have also stated that there will not be any modifications to the schedules or timing of these seasons. With regards to Soccer and Cheer we are still waiting for clarification and I will post that information when a decision is made. Although this is not the news that we wanted to hear, the IESA has held off on cancelling anything else at this time in hopes that we will still be able to hold our other sports. All those that have completed the registration process and paid will have their money refunded.
I will keep you updated with any new information. See here to read the entire statement from the IESA https://www.iesa.org/

Given that this is an unprecedented time that we are living through, especially in regards to athletics, there may be some modifications to the game play, schedule, seating, season etc... But know that we at District 54 believe in the importance of our interscholastic athletic programs, and that we are working diligently in order to create a safe environment for our athletes to compete.
Stay Safe and I will keep you posted with any new information
Thank you and Go Braves!
