We know everyone is super excited for Dress the Principal tomorrow but the weather isn’t looking good for this outside event. We want to keep all of our students dry and healthy so we’re pushing the event to next Friday October 20th.

In order to generate community input, 101 Next is hosting a series of Open Houses at MCHS in the main gym (see below for details), and we need YOU to help us get the word out. In order to generate interest and awareness of the Open Houses, 101 Next is coordinating a community canvassing day on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM. We need lots of volunteers to canvas the town and pass out informational fliers door to door. Of course we will spread the word via Social Media and other methods, but the most effective way to invite people to these important events is by a face-to-face ask. Please share the following link and information with your team and fellow coaches. Please ask them to RSVP if they're able to help so we can plan our day!
https://forms.gle/UWnuaek4KgEqh3QB9
Here is what you need to know:
We will meet at the MCHS parking lot at 2:00 on Saturday, October 14 to pick up the fliers and assign everyone to an area.
Participation in the canvassing event is not an endorsement of this project! It's simply a commitment to getting the community involved in something that is important to all of us.
You don't need to be a social butterfly to help! You will be provided a script to share with each person you speak to, and are not expected to answer questions or provide information other than the dates and times of the open houses. Everyone will have a chance to ask their questions and provide input during those events.
You CAN earn community service hours for participating!
You CAN invite your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors to participate with you! Spread the word and share the link!
Below are the Open House dates and times (all at MCHS Main Gym):
I can't stress enough how important it is for the community to learn about what's going on at MCHS, and to provide their input on this important matter. Please consider joining us on October 14, and please spread the word any way you can about these Open House events.
Thank you for your commitment to MCHS and to the whole Morris community!

It was a wild and windy Sectional for the Runnin' Braves! Morris XC walked away from Friday's races with some great finishes and two State qualifiers!
In the girl's 2-mile, the Lady Braves ran in the toughest conditions they had experienced all year, as temperatures dropped and the wind and rain picked up right as teams got to the line. The girl's squad is poised for a breakout 2024 season and hopes to push for a team qualification next fall. Wonderful work this year, girls - your coaches are so proud of what you accomplished this year!
The clouds parted for the boy's 2-mile race, and the Braves took advantage! An excellent start paid off for the gentlemen, as the boy's squad earned a phenomenal team finish and two State qualifiers: Ryan Resar of ICS and Patrick McCarthy of Saratoga! Resar and McCarthy look to medal in the 4A Boys State race at Maxwell Park in Bloomington-Normal this coming Saturday! Go, Braves!

The Morris Braves XC team has had a season full of amazing meets, great races, broken records, medals, and tons of new personal records! After capping off the season with a run to Dave's Dawgs, the girl's and boy's squads are poised to run their best at Sectionals for a shot at State! Congrats to our Sectional runners and to all of our amazing athletes from MGS, Saratoga, Nettle Creek, and ICS on a tremendous season full of growth! Go Braves!

💛🌈Friday, September 15th, was Dot Day, based off of the book, The Dot, written by Peter H. Reynolds. Prek-8th grade students as well as staff helped to create this colorful reminder at the front of our school - to be brave and to try new things! Many thanks to our lovely art teachers, Mrs. Alderman and Mrs. Olson, for creating the vision for this beautiful reminder. ☺️

Miss Waide’s PreK class had a blast💥recently making Friendship Salad! ☺️The bowl was their ‘school,’ the yogurt was their ‘nice friends,’ the blueberries were their ‘kind words’ and the strawberries were their ‘best effort.’ 🤗 They decided not to add the rotten banana or ‘mean friends, mean words, and not trying’ to the salad. 😉🙌🏻

Congratulations to our recent Golden Ticket recipients! Keep up the great work! 🎫⭐️👏🏻🥳🙌🏻

We had some cute guests welcoming students and staff this morning! 🦌🧡

Morris Grade School Parents- At approximately 12:40 p.m., we received word that there was a strong gas smell in the kitchen area. Out of precaution, we evacuated the building and the Morris Fire Department did an investigation. They gave us the all-clear, and students have returned to their normal day. Our students and staff did an amazing job following instructions. We want to thank the Morris Fire Department for the quick and effective response.
