Thursday night marked a bittersweet milestone for our 8th grade Morris Braves Golfers as they teed up at The Creek for their final home match of their junior high golf careers! The 8th graders were recognized by the coach, teammates, fans and parents who attended the match. They were also photographed with their parents and given gift bags. The Braves Booster Club had custom yard signs made by Simian Brothers that were given to the 8th graders.
It was a great night on the course! Tate Lafond led the charge with a respectable 54, followed closely by Bryer Hiller with a 55, and Jaxon Spell finishing strong with a 64.
Golf Coach, Matt Lafond, said, "But honestly, regardless of what numbers end up on the scorecard, the biggest takeaway is how incredibly proud we are of who these young men have become on and off the course."
Coach Lafond added, "These individuals have represented Morris Grade School and their families with absolute respect, dignity, and pure class on and off the golf course. It has been an absolute privilege and an exciting ride to work with this exceptional group over the last three years. They are simply a fantastic group to have on a team."
We can't wait to see where the game of golf and life takes them next as they continue to grow into outstanding young adults. We wish them the best of luck in high school and beyond!
