This week we had a Honor Flight Chicago banner presentation. We were 1 of 5 schools in the entire state of Illinois to raise enough money to cover the cost for a Veteran to go on the flight. However, we surpassed that by raising enough to cover the cost for almost 3 veterans. Bob Rogers and Cal Hammond are local Morris residents and Vietnam Veterans. They went on their honor flight last July. Mrs. Blatti was gifted with the honor to be their guardian on the flight. They came to share the impact and meaning with our Junior High classes as well as Mrs. Mancuso's class - who raised the most amount of money during our coin war fundraiser. This is the second year in a row that we have received a banner for our involvement with Honor Flight Chicago.
