Athletic Update for Contact Days

Dear District 54 and Morris Families,

Due to the postponement of Late Fall and Winter Athletics, the IESA is allowing the Junior High Schools to host a number of "Contact Days" where coaches will be able to run practices for the kids, focusing on the fundamentals of their respective sports.

Morris Grade School will be holding Athletic Practices for the sports of Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Sideline Cheer, and Wrestling during the months of November and December.   6th-8th grade students may participate in Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Sideline Cheer, and Wrestling. Please note that 5th grade students are only allowed to participate in Sideline Cheer and Wrestling. These practices are free of charge, will be held at both the White oak Main gym and Shabbona facility, take the format of clinics, and are inclusive of any of our students or coop students to attend as long as they have submitted the signed forms.

IMPORTANT! An up to date sports physical is REQUIRED prior to participation. The following forms which are linked, will need to be printed, completed, and submitted to either the school or the coaches prior to participation. These forms will also be available in the main school office.
*Please note that athletes will not be allowed to practice unless these forms are completed and returned!

As the safety of our athletes is of the utmost importance to us, all IDPH/IHSA/IESA return to play guidelines will be followed and I have included our Morris Grade School Contact Day guidelines as well.

All of the Contact Day Athletic Information can also be found here.

Sincerely,
Mr. Keith Anderson
Athletic Director
